Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) management committee, Zaka Ashraf, has addressed concerns about the future of Babar Azam’s captaincy in the event of the national team not performing well in the ongoing World Cup 2023.

In a recent media conference, Ashraf made it clear that the decision regarding Babar’s captaincy is not solely in his hands.

“It is not my decision, there is a full technical committee in which Misbah-ul-Haq and Hafeez are present. We will move forward based on their advice. This decision is not the chairman’s alone; we will proceed based on the consultation of technical experts who are also cricketers,” Zaka Ashraf said.

The chairman of the board also expressed his hopes for Babar’s success, emphasizing the desire to see him bring glory to Pakistan.

“Babar Azam is a great captain and a very good player. We pray that he succeeds and brings a trophy for Pakistan,” he concluded.

It is worth noting that the Men in Green are currently in the fifth spot of the ongoing ICC mega-event with four wins and four losses and now they will play their match against England on November 11th in Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
