The Israeli army announced the elimination on December 22 of Tarwat Muhammad Ahmed Albek, head of the security department of the Palestinian group Hamas, who was hiding in a command center operating in a former school building.
Details: The military reported that Albek worked in a command and control center located in the Musa ibn Nusayr school building in Durai Taffa in the Gaza Strip, which Hamas used for military purposes.
The IDF noted that “Hamas’ Security Directorate is responsible for intelligence assessments that help make strategic decisions, as well as for the security of the group’s senior officials, providing them with hiding places.”
“Albeck was a central figure in the security mechanisms and played an important role in the decision-making process,” the IDF said in a statement.
The IDF noted that “prior to the strike, the Israeli military took numerous measures to reduce the risk of harm to civilians – the attack used precision munitions, aerial surveillance, and additional intelligence.”ADVERTISING:Play Video
