Arshad Nadeem, Pakistan’s premier javelin thrower, is set to participate in the final round of the Men’s Javelin Throw competition at the Paris Olympics 2024.
The event is scheduled to begin at 11:25 pm Pakistan Standard Time (PST) on Thursday.
Arshad Nadeem qualified for the final of the Olympic javelin throw with an impressive first attempt of 86.59 metres at Stade de France on Tuesday afternoon.
Arshad joined India’s Neeraj Chopra, who recorded the best throw of the qualification with 89.34 metres, to become the second thrower from Group B to qualify automatically for the final.
Grenada’s Peter Anderson also qualified automatically, throwing 88.63 metres in his first attempt.

Additionally, Pakistan’s white-ball captain, Babar Azam, has extended his support to Arshad Nadeem.
In a video message, Babar wished Arshad the best of luck for the final, expressing hope that he will end Pakistan’s medal drought at the Olympics.
“I wish him good luck. I request everyone to support and pray he wins the final. Chak De Phatte Arshad Nadeem,” he said.
Meanwhile, Arshad has expressed his determination to make the nation proud.
“I want to make Pakistan proud in the Olympic Games,” Arshad told a local news outlet.
“I am optimistic about delivering a good result in the final,” he maintained while thanking fans for the support,” he added.
Nadeem, who won a silver medal at the 2023 World Championship and a gold at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, is Pakistan’s primary hope for a medal.
The country last won an Olympic medal in 1992, securing bronze in field hockey.
The final round of the Men’s Javelin Throw competition Paris Olympics 2024 will start at 11:25pm (PST).
