Prince Harry probably ‘feels more spare than ever’ after he was reportedly not told about Kate’s cancer before the public announcement, a royal expert claims.
The Princess of Wales revealed her diagnosis to the world on 22 March however it is believed the Sussexes were not informed beforehand.
Shortly after, Meghan and Harry shared a message of well-wishes to their in-law and reportedly reached out to them in private.
Royal expert Dr Tessa Dunlop told the Mirror: “Harry is the self-identifying royal ‘Spare’. And in the wake of his sister-in-law’s health revelations, I expect he feels more spare than ever,”
Amid concerns of a growing rift, there is speculation Harry will visit his brother William when he returns to the UK this May to host an event for the Invictus games.
Dr Dunlop said she felt compassion for the couple, who left their royal duties in exchange for a life in California in 2020.
She added: “No, they don’t have cancer, and yes, they have been publicly critical of the British Royal Family. But in our own families, how many of us hold back our feelings on the off-chance a sibling or sister-in-law might get sick? I rest my case.”
Mother who had preventative chemotherapy urges Kate Middleton to ‘stay positive’
Terri Grice, 50, felt a sharp pain under her armpit and a ‘tiny pea size lump’ under her right breast in 2011 but brushed off her symptoms.
Fortunately, her late husband Mark made her a GP appointment which led to a breast cancer diagnosis.
The mother-of-three from Chester started the long journey to recovery with an operation to remove the tumour, a lumpectomy, and then a course of “adjuvant chemotherapy” to ensure her body stayed cancer-free.

The expert had previously suggested the possibility of a reunion when the Duke visits the UK in May to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the Invictus Games.
He also pointed out that Meghan could continue to pose a challenge in the reconciliation, however.
