‘Flew abnormally’: Launch of Hyperbola-1 from Chinese private firm i-Space fails



The Hyperbola-1 rocket by i-Space, a private Chinese aerospace firm failed to launch on Thursday for ‘unknown’ reasons, according to China’s Xinhua news agency.
According to the report, the rocket’s flight was “abnormal,” and the reasons behind the failure are currently under investigation. The incident occurred at the Jiuquan satellite launch center, but no further details were provided.
i-Space achieved a significant milestone in 2019 when it became the first private company in China to successfully launch a rocket into orbit with the Hyperbola-1.The company is among several others in the country focused on developing rockets that can be reused.
Currently, SpaceX stands as the sole company to have achieved the feat of developing a rocket that can perform soft vertical landings and be reused multiple times. The company’s Falcon 9 rocket has been utilized for various purposes, including the deployment of Starlink satellites and the transportation of supplies and astronauts to the International Space Station.
