At the premiere of Ronnie O’Sullivan’s documentary, snooker legend Stephen Hendry revealed feeling slighted by football great David Beckham during a Q&A session.

DailyStar reported that Hendry, a seven-time world champion, expressed annoyance on the Snooker Club Podcast, recounting the incident when Beckham failed to include him among his snooker “heroes.”

Despite praising the documentary, Hendry smirked as he recalled Beckham’s comments during the session: “David Beckham said, ‘Oh it’s great, I love watching snooker. All my heroes are in tonight. I can’t believe Jimmy White’s here, Ronnie’s here.’ Did he mention me? No!”

The documentary, titled “Ronnie O’Sullivan: The Edge Of Everything,” explores the journey of the English snooker icon as he aims for a record-equalling seventh World Snooker Championship.

It provides an intimate look into O’Sullivan’s life, including his mental health struggles and the challenges associated with his exceptional talent.

Hendry commended the documentary for offering viewers extensive access to O’Sullivan’s experiences. Despite the amusing incident with Beckham, Hendry acknowledged O’Sullivan as the sole snooker player deserving of such a compelling documentary.

He humorously remarked that a documentary about himself would lack excitement, stating: “If they made one of me it wouldn’t be that exciting. Oh, there’s Stephen; he’s cooking another meal, he’s having another game of golf. It wouldn’t be very interesting.”
